Not a week passes that somewhere on the World Wide Web (remember that?)a Barracudas album isn't being blogged. I'll hold my hands up: I love these music blogs. It's the ultimate backhanded compliment to have your band blogged to death by well-meaning folk. These blogs swarm with detail and dedication, and you can retrieve or rediscover or newly discover a myriad of talents there, including your own ;) The time this army of aficionados must spend on transferring from vinyl alone is astounding to contemplate. And it has to be admitted that these blogs are more fun than the drab columns and colours of Soulseek or Shareaza. This boom is introducing a new generation to some very fine lost music, too. Blog on, then. Sales will suffer, companies will die, but the torch of cult obsession will remain aloft. Do I like seeing my music given away without my permission? Not always. Do I like seeing my music on these blogs? A little ;)BTW, all the links here take you to blogs giving away my music. Free. Patti Smith almost got it right. Free music...
